I’ve just revealed the official cover for my upcoming collection of psychological thriller shorts! Hallucinatory Tribulation is based on my struggles with schizoaffective disorder and PTSD as well as mental health/illness in general.
While I try to maintain a realistic semblance when portraying these things, the stories are for entertainment purposes. Many contain paranormal aspects and the anthology is not an accurate representation of the danger of mentally ill people, as it tends to focus on negative and extreme cases.
I’ve advocated for mental health for quite some time. A few important things to note are:
- mentally ill people are not inherently more dangerous than the mentally healthy
- mentally ill people ARE more likely to be victims of rather than perpetrators of violence
- even in people not diagnosed with mental or behavioural health issues, mental health is extremely important
