A few months back, I came across Quinn Buckland’s YouTube channel when I saw a common author friend post a review he had done of their book “The Van Helsing Paradox” (my review; his review). I went through and watched several of his videos. I really enjoyed his thorough and professional criticism so I asked if he would review the first book in my “Visitor’s Blood” series.
I was both excited and nervous to hear his thoughts, but more than anything, I was looking forward to his insight. As I’m sure all new writers are, I’m always looking for honest feedback so that I can know what I’m doing right and what needs improvement. Being perfectly honest, I didn’t expect him to like it too much and when I sat down to watch his review, it was with a pen so I could jot down notes. While he did mention a couple of negative points, his words were overwhelmingly positive and encouraging.
Here’s what he said (direct link here):
I’d also like to note that I have read one of his books and am working on reading his second. “Fallen Gods” by Quinn Buckland was an awesome experience filled with clever characters and situations, driven by an entirely unique and interesting plot.
